At times, Ariel Renae’s wedding work can be moody and romantic;atothers, fun and energetic. Oddly enough, after her
first wedding shoot, she swore she would never do another one. “It
was the hardest job I’d ever had and it was draining, both physically
and emotionally,” she explains. “Not long after that, I had some
friends who were getting married that talked me into shooting their
day. They said something that has stuck with me—‘Just do what you
do! Don’t worry about anything else!’ For me, having the right couple
that trusts my creative efforts makes all the difference.” Technically,
the digital photographer usually makes minor adjustments to her
RAW files and then runs everything through Photoshop with actions
she’s created. “At the root of it all, I just want my clients to be able
to look back at their photographs and be able to remember what
their wedding day felt like, not just what it looked like. If my work
can do that, then I’ve done my job,” she says. —JT
