As a photographer with the photo collective Ready Luck, Lindsay Hite has documented weddings up
and down the East Coast, along with destination nuptials
in Mt. Rainier National Park in Washington State, Puerto
Rico, Mexico and St. Lucia. “Regardless of location,
I find continuous inspiration in the bonds that draw
people together and the stories that unfold,” Hite says.
After studying photography at the Maryland Institute
College of Art and at Parsons Paris, Hite assisted other
photographers before going full-time in 2010. Shooting
primarily digitally and supplementing with a Polaroid,
Hite’s philosophy on post-processing is as follows: “My
images should look close to the experience, just a little
bit better. I try to stay away from leaning toward one
trend or another too strongly so the images stand the
test of time.” When asked why she shoots weddings,
Hite says: “I feel lucky to be given the privilege to witness
and document such intimate and personal expressions of
love, and celebration. Each wedding day is a unique roller
coaster ride that continually energizes me.” —JG
