Dan Stewart, a Central Michigan University graduate who resides in Northern Michigan, has a simple philosophy toward wedding photography: “I am a storyteller, driven by emotion.” Inspired by laughter, tears, love, family and friends, Stewart says that being a husband and father has given him drive for the art. “Love is responsible for the most wonderful events in our lives; as a photographer, I am in the fortunate position of documenting those events.” His connection to weddings started before he stepped behind the lens. “Believe it or not, I made wedding cakes before I started doing this,” he says. Stewart’s images are fresh, modern and convey a realistic account of the emotions that take place during a couple’s wedding.
