THE WPPI FIRST HALF MEMBERS ONLY COMPETITION helps all entrants improve their skills and
strengthen their voice ahead of The WPPI Second Half Members Only Competition, culminating in the
live judging of the The Annual 16 x 20 Print, Album and Filmmaking Competition at the WPPI Conference & Expo in Las Vegas. Every image entered receives feedback from an esteemed group of
world-renowned judges. Read how the judges reacted to each image on the following pages.
First-, second- and third-place winners are featured on the WPPI Honors of Excellence website
( www.wppiawards.com) in the winners’ gallery. All images from the 2016 First and Second Half are
entered to compete for the Members Only First and Second Half Grand Award ($2,000 cash prize),
which will be announced during our awards ceremony on February 9, 2017 in Las Vegas.
This year, the selected grand-prize winner will also receive an interview with a Rangefinder editor
for the RF/WPPI PhotoForward blog and in-depth feedback from Jacqueline Tobin, Second Half judge
and editor-in-chief of Rangefinder.
